High Potential Individual (HPI) visa
The High Potential Individual (HPI) visa is a UK visa category introduced on 30 May 2022 to attract foreign nationals who have recently obtained degree-level qualifications from top global universities. This visa allows talented individuals to come to the UK without requiring a job offer, to work or search for work. Here are the key details:
Key Features of the HPI Visa:
Eligibility: Applicants must have an overseas degree (UK qualifications do not qualify) from a top international university, completed in the last five years.
Stay Duration: Those with a Ph.D. can stay for up to 3 years, and those with other degrees can stay for up to 2 years. Extensions beyond this period are not allowed, but visa holders can switch to another visa category.
Family: Holders can bring their dependents, including partners and children.
